We recommend flying into Oaxaca on Thursday, March 7th at the latest due to the weekend’s schedule and the flight schedule between Mexico City and Oaxaca.
Flying into Oaxaca
Oaxaca International Airport (OAX) is a 25 minute drive from Oaxaca Centro.
OAX is accessible via Mexico City International Airport (MEX) primarily, although direct flights from LAX are available for those coming from Los Angeles.
AeroMexico, VivaAerobus, and Volaris operate 12 flights a day from MEX to OAX.
Taxis from the Airport
The safest and most reliable way to get to Oaxaca Centro from the airport is to get a taxi once you’ve landed. Fares are standard and drivers are knowledgeable.
Uber is not allowed in Oaxaca International Airport nor is it available generally in Oaxaca. Didi, can be used as an alternative, however, it is also not allowed within Oaxaca airport.
