Colorfully Formal
But what does that mean... Oaxaca is a very vibrant, colorful city. So we'd love our guests to dress in that vibe! The brighter, the bolder, and more colorful the better. Black and dark colors are discouraged.
Questions?
How fancy should I dress? Is it black tie?
Not black tie! By formal we mean that sweet spot is in between cocktail and black tie.
Suits are fine. Tie or no tie, you do you.
Dresses can be whatever length you want. Just look nice.
But I only own a dark suit. Are you telling me I have to buy a new one?
No! If you don't want to buy a whole new outfit for the wedding of the century, try to incorporate some color into your look in another way. Maybe a fun bright shirt? Some flashy shoes? Or even a colorful attitude?! Just do your best.
I have weak ankles... What kind of heels should I wear?
We'll be walking (or dancing) from the ceremony to the venue and some of the streets are cobblestone. So if you're wearing pumps, Kurt recommends a chunkier heel. Or a change of shoes for maximum groovability.
How hot am I going to be?
March in Oaxaca is nice and toasty. Typically between 80-90 degrees. So gents - lightweight or linen suits are a good call. It does get a little chilly at night (60 degrees), so if you're cold blooded bring a shawl or jacket.
